I just finished reading this book and while it's not bad, and it did make me laugh a few times, it has a lot of fluff. At one point the author spends a lot of time describing all the parks at WDW. I'm assuming that most people who read this book have a good idea of the parks and attractions at each of the parks. To me it just seemed as a way to add a few more pages to the total page count.
A lot of the book covers the drinking and sexual adventures of the cast members. But it's really nothing related to Disney other than these people were working at Disney World at the time these stories happened. These stories are nothing new to anyone who has been through the college experience, in a dorm more specifically. I didn't get anything out of them other than the very occasional chuckle. There is definitely room for this in the book, but to me it seemed that these were the longer chapters in the book.
When the author does tell Disney-related stories, she does a good job. A lot of the stories are truly funny and make you wish you could go meet the cast member involved in the story. But sometimes it is because you want more details.
There are also a few grammar and punctuation errors through the book. I'm obviously not a writer, but someone who is writing a book should be aware of those mistakes. Or at least the editor should have been able to fix those. Since the book covers some stories that happened at Expedition Everest, which has just now recently opened, I get the feeling that the book was rushed to printing.
Overall the book was a quick and fun read and I recommend it to those who want a "backstage" look at the life of the cast members. I just wish that the author had spent more time telling us stories that happened in the parks as opposed to drinking stories that could have happened at any college on any given day; after all, this is supposed to be a book about Disney.

Mousecatraz The Disney College Program edition by Michael Esola Wesley Jones Humor Entertainment eBooks Reviews
I bought this book to read during my Disney College Program run earlier this year (from February to August - Spring Advantage 2011). I never found the time during my busy and chaotic life in "the World", however. When I came home and unpacked my stuff, I somehow lost track of the book. I just found it yesterday while going through boxes in my closet. I finished the book today.
I'm not saying the book is an amazing read or anything, but once I got started, I couldn't put it down. I hadn't realized just how much I miss the College Program and Walt Disney World. My life's been pretty chaotic since my program ended with a surgery and finishing up school and moving to a different state to live with my boyfriend. All the memories came rushing back (most of them good).
As someone who took several folklore classes at university, I am used to reading material written in this manner - a collection of directly quoted stories from several people - and I enjoy it. Be warned there are no actual names listed, and some of the stories may be hard to believe. However, after working as a College Program Cast Member myself, and after working with customers ("guests") in general for over ten years, I believe anything is possible, and I know that human stupidity knows no bounds.
I don't know what a person who has never been through the program would think of this book. To me, this book is like a friend from the College Program. It knows the inside details. It knows the stories we try to explain to outsiders who just don't "get it" or don't believe it. I'm surprised there's no mention of the SOP (Sex on Property) Club or the name I heard for Orlando more than O-Town - "Whorelando", but there are plenty of other inside jokes and references. I definitely recommend the book to all DCP alumni wanting to relive their experience.
it was very interesting, loved the behind the scenes look at Disney.
I bought this for my , and am really regretting the purchase. It was a long, hard slog getting through it. The writing is terrible. I tried to give the writers ("authors" is too good a word here) the benefit of the doubt. Maybe English isn't their first language, or something, but they are completely unable to create compelling sentences. Simple things, like subject-verb agreement, seem to be beyond them at times.
Poor writing is only one hurdle in getting through this book. The content itself is another. This book consists mainly of a series of anecdotes that any college student, anywhere, could tell about living on campus. They are nervous about moving in. They try to find reasons to get different roommates. They party. They get drunk. They vomit. They are too tired to work or to function in their classes. They have random hook-ups. They cheat in classes and lie about "sick days." They miss it when they leave.
Each chapter has the same basic format. First, a brief introduction to the subject matter. Then a series of illustrating anecdotes poorly told in the third person. (Ie One student says... ) Finally, an italicized group of anecdotes directly quoted from the questionnaires or interviews that form the basis of the book. I kept waiting for something truly funny or shocking to show up, but every story just sounds like drunken frat boys laughing over events that seem hilarious through the alcohol haze, but are really just stupid and pathetic.
